September Challenge Encourages Bike Commuting.

Join Bike Indianapolis for our September Bike Commuter Challenge!

Two weeks gives you two chances to win a Bicycle Garage Indy (BGI) gift card and more importantly make a positive impact on the environment and our community by replacing a car trip with a bike ride!

Mark your calendars and plan your weeks to include a new bike commute trip!  During the weeks of Sept. 17 - 23 and Sept. 24 - 30 we will be raffling off BGI gift cards to those who commute by bike each week!

How do I participate?

Just post a picture of yourself on your commute (or after your commute ~ Safety first!) with the hashtag: #BICC and tag us (@bikeindianapolis) on Facebook and/or Instagram to be entered to win. Make sure to post both weeks to be entered both times!

Does the destination matter?

Nope! Your bike commute doesn’t have to be to work but it certainly can be. It can also be a grocery run, your trip to the gym, that errand to a local shop or to a friend’s house . . . We want you to start thinking about new opportunities to ride! Get creative! As long as you are replacing a car ride with a bike ride, it counts!

Two built-in opportunities:

You have two built in bike commuter opportunities during the first week of the challenge (Sept. 17 - 23):

  1. The Active Transportation Meetup on Sept. 21 at 7 am at Tinker on Market.

  2. CIRTA/Commuter Connect’s Car Free day on Friday, Sept. 22 from 7 to 9 am and 11 am to 1 pm.

Contest Rules:

  1. Participation is necessary ;)

  2. One entry allowed per week but major kudos (And bragging rights) if you choose to commute multiple days!

  3. Pictures must be tagged with #BICC AND @bikeindianapolis.

  4. Pictures must be posted within the time frame listed: Sept 17- 23 & Sept 24 - 30.

  5. Feel free to post on both Facebook and Instagram but you name still goes in only once each week.

  6. Drawing will occur the Monday after each week.

  7. Winners will be notified via DM.

  8. Gift cards will be mailed by Oct. 15.

And of course, if you are new rider and/or unsure of where to start. Get a bike mentor through our Bike Buddy Program!

Get out there and enjoy the fall weather on your bike! No better time to up your rides. Can’t wait to see the pixs!
